Townhomes can be found in and around Galveston. They are much like apartments in that they are part of a community and have on-site maintenance that the renter pays for as part of the rent. Well, what is a townhome? A townhome is a residence, often including two or three stories, that is connected by a common wall to another residence. Much like an apartment, where your neighbors are connected to your walls, townhomes differ in that they have two or more stories as part of them. Apartments are generally one story and very small compared to a townhome. Townhomes can be stand alone units still within an apartment community or a townhome community. On rare occasions, you may find a townhome in a neighborhood, though this is extremely rare and they are very difficult to move into. Waiting lists tend to be long for these types of townhomes. Some types of townhomes are for sell.
